IWAD Ghana Limited (IWAD), a limited liability company and a wholly owned subsidiary of African Tiger Holding Limited (ATHL), is an active investor in Northern Ghana (Yagaba in the Mamprugu Moaduri District) and engages in Agribusiness using large-scale modernized irrigation that ensures all year round production for both the Nucleus Estates and smallholder unit. The company since 2016 shifted it business focus into certified and foundation seeds Production, conditioning and marketing.

“Our vision is to expand commercially viable seed business and sugarcane production in northern Ghana through the delivery of high quality irrigation support, new technology development and knowledge transfer promoting water and energy use efficiency, sustainability and securing farmer revenues for both stallholders and nucleus estates.

This the irrigation facility is flagship designed to be a template for future development of large-scale irrigation projects and promotes the adaptation of a demand driven private sector oriented approach to agricultural investments and commercialization.

IWAD's Farm grows seed crops such as Maize, rice, soybean, cowpea, groundnut, and testing sugarcane varieties. Since 2017, IWAD has been a consistent supplier of seeds (hybrids/opvs) to Government’s flagship programmme “Planting for Food and Jobs” (PFJ). It has supplied cumulatively for the past three years over 1000 metric tons of assorted crops and varieties of seeds under the initiative.
